The History of Dingles

The Dingle Smash Repairs (Dingles) story all began in 1990 when Bill and Chris Dingle embarked on a journey to establish what would soon become a cornerstone of the local automotive industry: Dingle Smash Repairs.

Bill, a seasoned panel beater with a vision for quality craftsmanship, set up shop with just two employees in Home Hill. His commitment to precision and his wife Chris's unwavering support laid the foundation for what would become a renowned name in auto body repairs.

 

In 2003, fuelled by a desire to expand their reach and serve a broader community, Bill took a bold step forward by opening a new location within the John Dwyer Group in Ayr.

 

This expansion marked the beginning of a new chapter for Dingle Smash Repairs, as it ventured into new territories while maintaining its commitment to excellence.

​

However, it was in 2007 that Bill's entrepreneurial spirit truly shone. With a strategic move to acquire the current Graham Street property, Bill merged the Ayr and Home Hill shops, consolidating operations and streamlining resources.

​

The investment didn't stop there. Bill redeveloped of the Kennedy Street workshop, equipping it with state-of-the-art facilities and enclosed painting booths, setting a new standard for auto body shop services in the region.

​

As the business flourished, so did its team!

 

Paul Dabelstein and Rodney Menso, both seasoned professionals who began their trades at Dingles in 1993, played pivotal roles in its growth.

 

Paul, with his expertise as a spray painter, joined the leadership in 2013, followed by Rodney, a qualified panel beater, in 2017. Their combined skills and industry experience became the backbone of Dingle Smash Repairs, driving it to new heights of success.

Today, Dingles stands as a beacon of reliability and quality workmanship in the Burdekin region, offering a comprehensive range of services that make it the go-to destination for smash repairs, fit-outs, and vehicle customisation.

 

With a dedicated team of 12 experienced technicians, each trained to deliver excellence with every task, Dingles has earned the trust and loyalty of its customers.
